At the Czech Law Firm of the Year 2014 award ceremony, Allen & Overy has won the main, overall award in the category “Law Firm of the Year 2014 – International Law Firm”. The results of the seventh annual awards organised by EPRAVO.CZ were announced on 10 November 2014 at a ceremony held at the InterContinental Hotel in Prague, which was attended by leading law firms and personalities of the Czech law profession.
Allen & Overy was awarded as the best international law firm in the Czech Republic by an independent panel of 250 leading personalities of the law profession and business sector and by EPRAVO.CZ, an independent company monitoring the activities of lawyers and law firms in the Czech Republic.
Jan Myška, partner and head of the Corporate practice of Allen & Overy Prague, said of the award: “We are proud that we have achieved top ranking in this contest for the third time. It is recognition of the work of our entire team. We consider it a huge success and are greatly honoured to be recognised by our clients and colleagues. Awards such as this support our reputation of being a preferred counsel.”
Václav Valvoda, partner and head of the Finance practice of Allen & Overy Prague, commented: “We are delighted as this is an award reflecting our position on the local market. For over 20 years, we have occupied the highest places of ratings by independent international publications, such as Chambers & Partners, Financial Times, IFLR and Mergermarket, but we have been successful at domestic awards for only the last three years. We appreciate it all the more.”
Apart from winning the category “Law Firm of the Year 2014 – International Law Firm”, Allen & Overy was awarded as a highly commended law firm in the categories of Corporate Law, and Banking and Finance.
This year, Allen & Overy has already been recognised as having “The Most Engaged Employees” and ranked second place at the TOP Responsible Company 2014 awards. Allen & Overy has also won the “TOP 100 IDEAL EMPLOYER – Universum Awards 2014” according to the preferences of university students in the Czech Republic, who consider it an ideal employer in the “Lawyer” category.
