AK Eversheds Sutherland assisted Safestay PLC in its purchase of hostel chains in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland

16.01.2020
Company: Eversheds Sutherland, advokátní kancelář, s.r.o.

Safestay PLC, one of Europe's largest hostel networks, is strengthening its position in the accommodation services market in Central and Eastern Europe. The company recently completed a significant acquisition of three companies in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland owned by the Ukrainian Dreamgroup Management Group. The transaction, which is part of the holding's plans to build a strong group of interconnected companies, was significantly assisted on the buyer side by the international team of Eversheds Sutherland.

"We were honoured to participate in such an important project run by our Italian colleagues for an expanding company like Safestay PLC," said Bernhard Hager, head of the transaction team and an Eversheds Sutherland partner. "We believe that the acquisition provides interesting market potential for the client and will lead to further strengthening of its activities in the territory of all three Central European countries. We are excited to be a part of it." Joining Mr Hager on the Czech and Slovak team were principal associate Jiří Kokeš, attorneys Lucie Luptáková and Petra Štrbová Marková and other colleagues. The international team, managed from Milan, was led by partner Riccardo Bianchini, supported by attorneys Alessandro Monti and Gianludovico Maggi.

Dreamgroup Management was represented by the Nobles law firm based in Kyiv with a team led by partner Volodymyr Yakubovsky.

Eversheds Sutherland is a Top 15 global law firm. It employs more than 5,000 people over 69 offices in 34 jurisdictions in Europe, the USA, Africa, Asia and the Middle East. www.eversheds-sutherland.com
