DLA Piper's global Finance & Projects practice has today launched Finance Rules of the World, a knowledge site for clients, which summarizes key legal questions and answers to be considered when initially looking at financing or investing in particular jurisdictions.
The free and easy-to-use site can be accessed online via PC, iPad or smartphone and lets users compare regimes across more than 35 jurisdictions in EMEA, Asia Pacific and the US.
Its topics include the rules and market practice around lending and borrowing, debt securities, derivatives, funds, portfolio transfers and FinTech products, as well as energy, infrastructure and other projects.
Martin Bartlam, International Head of Finance & Projects, said: "Credit trends and technology are transforming how capital flows internationally. As businesses and regulators face up to the challenge, financiers and investors have a lot to consider when devising market strategies and structuring deals. With input from more than 340 lawyers across our global network, 'Finance Rules of the World' illustrates how jurisdictions around the world compare in this respect.
"We aim to give our clients global perspective and local points of contact to make it easier for them to solve legal issues, wherever they arise. This site is just one of the many group initiatives that aim to enhance our globally connected Finance & Projects offering, involving our lawyers working more closely together to deliver international services to clients and keep them informed of market developments around the world."
