Are you interested in sustainability and want to share your thoughts? We want to hear it! Write an essay on "Effort sharing to decarbonize the world" and join us for McKinsey Prague sustainability event. Selected participants will be invited for 1on1 discussions with our consultants working on sustainability topics, followed by a common dinner.

Application process:

During the application process, you will be asked to complete a short online form and include a CV and essay in English. No cover letter is needed and transcripts are optional. You should also be fluent in the local language Czech or Slovak.

What to expect

How it works

Step 1: submit your essay by 27th February 2022 23:59

·       Topic: "Effort sharing to decarbonize the world". You may (but don’t have to) touch upon some of the following:

·       How should the decarbonization efforts be shared within the world - developed versus developing countries?

·       How to increase decarbonization efforts of the developing regions?

·       What should be the role of Europe and the Czech Republic in global decarbonization efforts?

·       Aspiration: share innovative and applicable view on how the world should work together to reach carbon neutrality

·       Max length: 2 normopages (i.e., 3600 signs, incl., breaks)

·       Who: students and young professionals with less than 3 years of work experience (no factual or technical experience in sustainability is expected)

Step 2: 1on1 discussions with McKinsey consultants working in sustainability

·       Who: selected applicants based on review of essay

·       Why: discuss your views on sustainability and questions regarding career at McKinsey (… and questions regarding your outputs from the essay)

·       Format: 30 minutes either in person or via Zoom (dependent on preference and current safety situation)

Step 3: common dinner where the winner will be announced (planned according to current pandemic situation)

·       Who: selected applicants based on review of the essay and CV

·       Why: discuss sustainability and work at McKinsey in a larger group
