New reporting obligations for employers rejected but extra allowance for employees approved

18.03.2021

The Czech Parliament has not approved the proposed amendment to the Czech Employment Act under which employers would have to report

  • job vacancies, including information about such positions, within 10 days;
  • employment, and changes to and termination of the positions of employees who are not participating in the sickness insurance scheme, within 8 days;
  • the fact that they employ staff who are not participating in the sickness insurance scheme, within 8 days

Instead, the Czech Parliament approved an extra allowance for employees in quarantine of up to CZK 370 for the first 14 days of quarantine.

Reintroducing the rejected reporting obligations cannot be completely ruled out because the government could propose the draft legislation again, in a different form.
