At the start of the new year, Taylor Wessing Czech Republic had an infusion of new energy in the person of Jakub Adam, a highly skilled lawyer with decades of experience in the B2B segment, focusing on real estate and its financing, mergers and acquisitions. Taylor Wessing has thus gained another professional team player with extensive international experience. This will significantly strengthen the team in the Czech Republic.

Throughout his previous practice, Jakub, thanks to his sensitive leadership, systematically built a great team focusing on transactional and financial matters capable of assisting clients with a wide variety of complex corporate, real estate, regulatory and labour matters, as well as related litigation. He has represented both buyers and sellers in bilateral and multilateral transactions, advised on private equity issues, coordinated extensive due diligence, and negotiated transactions with major international law firms. He also has experience in corporate restructuring, corporate governance, mergers, spin-offs, joint ventures, squeeze-outs and debt capitalization.
In addition to English, Jakub is also proficient in German. He is a member of the AmCham Real Estate Committee and regularly takes part in real estate conferences and seminars as a speaker.He is the author of numerous articles for legal publications and also co-author of the Handbook on Real Estate Law in Europe (Handbuch Immobilienrecht in Europa) published by C.F.Müller.
Adam graduated from the Faculty of Law of Charles University in Prague where he also received both JUDr. and Ph.D degrees. He joined the Gleiss Lutz Hootz Hirsch law firm in Prague in 1996, and completed an internship with Herbert Smith Freehills in London in 2001. He joined Wolf Theiss in Prague as a partner in 2006 and moved to DLA Piper Prague as a partner in 2011. He is a member of the Czech Bar Association.
