The TRIO programme announces the second call to support research and development

On 3 October 2016, the Ministry of Industry and Trade announced the second call as part of the programme to support research and development entitled TRIO (the “Programme”). The Programme is realised by way of public tenders in research, experimental development and innovations in terms of the Act on the Support of Research, Experimental Development and Innovations. The Programme will run from 2016 to 2021 and the total volume of support will amount to CZK 3,700 million in that period. 

The Programme focuses on developing the potential of the Czech Republic in the area of key technologies such as photonics, microelectronics and nanoelectronics, nanotechnology, industrial biotechnology, advanced materials and advanced production technologies. The Programme is intended for applicants from all over the Czech Republic, including the Capital City of Prague. Applicants seeking the support may include businesses (both legal entities and individuals) that deal with a project in effective cooperation with at least one research organisation. 

As part of the Programme, support is given exclusively to projects that are realised in cooperation between business and research organisations. The amount of the grant may be up to 100% of eligible costs. The result of each project must be a prototype, software, pilot operation, tested technology, utility model or industrial design, patent. Receipt of applications will end on 30 November 2016 and the results will be announced on 15 May 2017.
