Eva Jiřičná, renowned architect and jury president of CBRE Meeting Room of the Year said:

“I appreciate this year's cooperation with the students with whom I evaluated the projects for the Architectural Design Award. Hearing the viewpoints and not losing contact with young architects is very important to me and the discussions with them were very pleasant. This year’s winners of all categories are such inspirations for other businesses not only in terms of the representational nature of their premises, but also in their ability to speak beyond the doors of their office.”

A record 94 companies signed up for CBRE Meeting Room of the Year in 2017. Clearly, IT companies were predominately represented among the 17 finalists, along with e-commerce, the financial sector, co-working centres, media and marketing companies, business companies, law firms and manufacturing companies. The contestants were mainly from companies based in Prague and Brno (Notino, Kiwi, Global IT Center, Line Control, Kreston A&CE Group, Phonexia, Red Hat Czech). However, there were also companies from other regions such as Tipsport (Beroun), De Heus (BučoviceVyškov), Sonnentor (ČejkoviceHodonín district), ABB (Jablonec nad Nisou), TESCO SW and Vault 42 (Olomouc), and ERA (Pardubice). A total of 19 architects were involved in the new Architectural Design category.

The expert Jury composed of Eva Jiřičná – AI-DESIGN, Biljana Weber – Microsoft, Marie Passburg – Skanska, Richard Curran – CBRE, Tomáš Jindříšek – Dark Side, Jiří Tourek – Philips and Pavel Maurer – Maurer’s Choice Grand Restaurant decided on the basis of the criteria evaluated, innovation and the practicality and attractiveness of the work environment for employees and by personally visiting some of the companies.

Petra Lávičková, Head of Marketing & PR at CBRE, the organizer of CBRE Meeting Room of the Year, said:

“The fourth-annual CBRE Meeting Room of the Year clearly showed us that modern offices are no longer just a prerogative of the capital. I’m very pleased that even small towns across the Czech Republic are becoming increasingly interested in the office environment and the comfort and the satisfaction of their employees. The competition would not have become one of the biggest real estate events of the year without the participation and support of our partners and jurors. I'm looking forward to the fifth year.”
