Tomáš Richter appointed as new Chair of the INSOL Europe Academic Forum

Tomáš Richter, Of Counsel at Clifford Chance, was appointed to Chair the Academic Forum of INSOL Europe, a European non-profit organization of professionals who specialize in insolvency, business reconstruction and recovery. He became the first chair of the Academic Forum from Central and Eastern Europe in the Forum's 15-year history. At the same time, Tomáš was also appointed to INSOL Europe's Council. The appointment was announced at INSOL Europe's annual conference in Copenhagen this September.
Tomáš Richter was admitted as a Czech attorney in 1998 and has served as an arbitrator since 2004. He joined Clifford Chance in 2006, heads the Prague office's Knowledge & Information department and provides legal consultancy services to clients in the areas of insolvency, restructuring, and related litigation. He also lectures at the Charles University's Institute of Economic Studies in Prague.
He is the author of numerous publications in the Czech Republic and abroad. As a consultant, he participated in legislative processes in the Czech Republic and the EU. Most recently, he was advising the European Commission on its proposal of the new EU directive 2019/1023 on preventive restructuring frameworks. Tomáš Richter is a member of the Board of Directors of the International Insolvency Institute. Legal directory Chambers & Partners ranks him among leading experts specialising in insolvency and restructuring in the Czech Republic.
