Two Carrier Commercial Refrigeration Organizations Recognized Nationally as “Family Friendly”

At Carrier Commercial Refrigeration, diversity and inclusion are core values. In looking for an effective way to assess our progress, we discovered the Network of Maternity Centers’ national campaign that recognizes “Family Friendly” companies. 

This recognition is presented to employers who support families by offering equal opportunities for employment as well as providing programs that focus on employee work/life balance. Companies that apply for the award undergo a detailed audit to measure “family friendliness," with recognition publicly awarded to the companies scoring the highest in the following areas:

• Well-defined system for management of maternity/parental vacations/leaves and the percentage of those employees returning to work
• Percentage of women at all levels of management and
• Focus on diversity

Two regional Carrier Commercial Refrigeration entities received the 2015 national family friendly recognition: Carrier chladici technika CZ s.r.o. and Carrier Refrigeration Operation Czech Republic s.r.o.  They were two of just four companies in the Czech Republic to earn the distinction. The Family Friendly awards were presented by Michaela Marksova-Tominova, Czech Republic Minister of Labor and Social Affairs, and Jiri Dientsbier, Minister for Human Rights, Equal Opportunities and Legislation.  

The application and assessment process served as a catalyst for increasing communications between management and employees about diversity and inclusion. As a result Carrier Commercial Refrigeration committed to the continuous development of human resources strategies that by expand into additional focus areas such as leadership development programs and the increasingly relevant topic of age management. 

“This award reinforces that we are on the right track,” said Patrick Tobler, director, Human Resources, Carrier Commercial Refrigeration. “We will continue our focus on employee work/life balance programs and cultivating a diverse and inclusive work environment.”
