Progress toward gender equality is at risk. Responsibilities at work and at home have exponentially increased since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and the burden is disproportionately impacting women. Released today, Deloitte Global’s 2021 Women @ Work Report: A global outlook explores the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and the state of gender equality in the workplace—and what organizations can do to make tangible progress.
The survey of more than 5,000 women across 10 countries confirms that many women are at a breaking point and leaving the workforce in record numbers. 57% plan to stay with current employer for less than two years, citing a lack of work-life balance and almost 1 in 4 are considering leaving the workforce altogether. However, a small number of organizations that have created inclusive, high-trust cultures are more likely to report greater retention of women during and after the pandemic.
Please visit the Deloitte Women @ Work website to read the full report detailing the survey’s main findings, alongside additional analysis from the study.
