Operations Manager/Telco

Our client is a leading and experienced team of messaging software professionals dedicated to the delivery of innovative SMS and MMS router solutions for mobile and wholesale operators across the globe. The ideal candidate will be from a software development background with some experience of working with messaging/telecommunication software. The position is based in the company’s Regional Office in Prague but regular travel (at least one per quarter) to the Dublin based headquarters is expected.

SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Operations Manager is responsible for the overall operations of the messaging applications field deployment group and the 24/7 operations centre (both based in the Prague office).
The role requires the line management of 2 team lead/managers with a full staff complement of approximately 20 engineers.
The Operations Manager is expected to provide an input into the overall client’s messaging business unit strategy and then expected to deliver to agreed KPI’s with the Dublin based senior manager.
The Operations Manager will need to work in a very focussed, project portfolio manner with the deployment and support staff to deliver agreed on revenue numbers by quarter and ensure that customers are supported to the highest levels possible.

PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:

Ideal candidate must be self-motivated with a proven track record in leadership and growing a technical business. The candidate must have at least 5 years in a previous staff management position and have demonstrated experience in growth of a business unit (ideally with demonstrable revenue numbers).
We would expect the ideal candidate to have a software technical/engineering background with some business education.
It is expected that the candidate would have a thorough knowledge of operations management and the full end to end project life cycle. Prior experience of working as a project/programme manager is essential.
The candidate must be organized and analytical, adept at working in a team environment, able to design and implement a project schedule, and able to handle multiple projects and priorities .

Additional preferred qualifications are:
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, MIS or equivalent preferred
• A qualification in business/ operation management.
• Excellent communication skills and professional manner
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Must maintain professional knowledge and relationships with all internal employees, customers and stakeholders.
