T-Mobile has decided to extend the validity of its special summer roaming offer, which was originally valid from 16 June to 31 August 2014, for two months. The Internet v zahraničí na den (Internet Abroad for One Day) and Internet v zahraničí 100 MB (100 MB Internet Abroad) data bundles thus remain available worldwide for the rates valid for Zone 1 (EU, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) until 31 October 2014.
“Our customers' response to the summer special offer was very positive. We have therefore decided to extend the validity of this benefit,” says Dana Tomášková, Vice President Resident Marketing at T-Mobile, adding: “Our intention is to allow customers to enjoy our data services at very favourable rates also while abroad.”
Customers can choose from two bundles: Internet v zahraničí na den (including a data allowance of 5 MB or 30 MB and valid for 24 hours) and Internet v zahraničí 100 MB (valid for 30 days). The bundles are charged for immediately after being ordered and are renewed only if they are reactivated by the customer after the allowance is used up or the validity period expires. In the case of the one-day option, customers will first pay CZK 24 and will pay the full price of CZK 70 for the bundle only if they use up the 5 MB data allowance.

Additionally, starting on 16 June customers have full control over their roaming data bills. When opening a browser in their mobile device while roaming, customers will automatically be directed to a free landing page, where they can activate one of the two bundles described above (prepaid Twist card users can only activate the Internet v zahraničí na den bundle) or select the option of paying for data based on the downloaded volume. If they do not decide for any of these options, roaming data services will not be activated and will therefore not be charged.
Use of roaming services is traditionally the highest in summer and has been growing steadily in recent years. As compared with the previous year, the number of T-Mobile customers' calling minutes while roaming increased by 10% and the number of text messages grew by 3% in June and July this year. The largest increase by far was reported in the consumption of data roaming services, up 60%, with a further increase expected in August.
