Department manager - Ostrava / Bema

Our client from retail is looking for a Department Manager in Ostrava who will be reporting to the Store Manager in our stores and will be responsible for a team of 3-5 people. The Department Manager will assist the Store Manager in leading and managing the company’s store team to achieve sales and profit targets through the planning and execution of department financial, customer focus, merchandising and the development of employees. The successful candidate will manage the controllable, key initiatives, space productivity and direct communication of key product needs. The candidate will also create and deliver a culture obsessed with customer service by providing coaching to his/her direct reports on the floor, as well as executing company’s service and selling toolkit to meet performance expectations and standards.

Responsibilities
Leading the assigned department of company store in terms of revenue and team responsibility (approx. 500-700m2)

Implementing visual merchandising with respect to local sales needs and VM guidelines

Involvement in the purchasing process in terms of giving feedback to the centralised purchasing department in Austria regarding the market-specific customer requirements in order to enable the fine tuning of the assortment for future seasons

Running sales analyses on a regular basis in order to be able to adjust the stock level in terms of fast- and slow-moving garments

Setting up a network to other department managers in CEE in order to build up a successful communication, especially in order to organise merchandise movements and transfers from and to other stores

Training, leading and motivating his / her team

Planning of the appropriate working schedule for his / her team

Allocate substantial time for working on the shop floor, interact with clients, get their feedback and handle the complains

Keeping the company standards in sales and client services

Background of the ideal candidate

Preferably university studies combined with experience in a coordination position in a service-oriented segment, ideally in the area of fashion retail; Experience in managing a team; Solid overview on the fashion retail market, competitors and the general lifestyle environment; Highly professional appearance combined with in-depth social and communication skills and team orientation; Dynamic personality, having initiative, self-awareness and strong client orientation; Passionate about fashion and style but still a practical, business oriented and operational person; Excellent organisational and time management abilities; Good understanding of visual merchandising concepts; Able to find solutions and make quick decisions and adjustments; Very good knowledge of German and / or English Language.
