Department Overview
Reference Data IT is an application team within Shared Services IT and is responsible for the development and support of a number of systems:
Asset Control and ESM are the banks Product & Price repositories, meaning instrument static and time series data. This encompasses Fixed Income Bonds, Futures and Options, Contracts, Indices, Equities and all the associated supporting objects such as Organisations, Countries etc. Data is sourced both internally and from Market Data Vendors to be QA’d by Operations and supplied to downstream systems and users across front, middle and back office. Typical data vendors are Bloomberg, Reuters, FT Interactive, Moody and Standard and Poor. A large number of systems feed from Asset Control & ESM as well as around 6000 end users.
SDS and Global Accounts are the strategic repository for Client and Counterparty data and source data from a number of external vendors such as Dunn and Bradstreet. There are a large number of downstream systems and end users making use of the available data.

Main Duties
Release planning, ensure successful deployment, impact analysis for releases, negotiate for SLA if there is any vendor involvement, version control, roll back planning, preparation of release note, ensure change management signoff.

• Controlling release of software into production environment
• Use of source code control repository (ClearCase, Perforce) to control individual streams of work
• Adhere to strict procedure and governance & understand their importance
• Preparation of release plans and release test criteria
• Liaise with development to understand impact of changes
• Coordinate of resources from various support team to assist with release
• Notify business and other IT teams of impact of release and liaise with them to obtain UAT sign-off
• Notification to business and IT teams on impact and progress of release
• Maintenance of and suggesting improvements to release procedures and release control software
• Able to communicate clearly on technical issues
Adhere to strict procedure and governance & understand their importance

Environment management:
• Responsible for the control and maintenance of multiple testing and pre-production environments.
• Manage environment refreshes from production.
• Assign suitable environments for development & testing efforts to best avoid conflicts.
• Liaise with external teams to meet their testing requirements.
• Work with development team to determine future hardware requirements.
• Manage and monitor JIRA tickets for the development environment.
• Spearhead in environment management checklist and processes
• Assist development & downstream teams with UAT Support

Communication:
• Reporting of progress, risks and issues to the IT management in Singapore and London.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with other IT team members, other project members, managers and business users.
• Must be able to build a lasting relationship with relevant parties at all levels
• Must be able to participate in a culture of “knowledge sharing” within the application team globally and within the wider Shared Services

Person Requirements
-Degree educated in a related discipline
-Extensive knowledge and systems experience within a banking environment (BTB or RTB suitable)
-Experience of running controlled code releases into production environments
-Must be a good communicator, self-starter, problem solver and a team player
-Good knowledge of relational database systems (preferably Sybase and/or MS-SQL)
-Knowledge of source code control systems (ClearCase or Perforce)
-ITIL
