Financial Reporting Specialist

Job purpose:

Responsible for preparing accurate and timely financial reports and supporting analysis for Senior Management and the Executive Board in accordance with local GAAP and IFRS.

Accountabilities:

  • Maintenance of current financial reporting models
  • ‘Value add’ analysis of financial results
  • Production of regular IFRS reporting for submission to UK head office
  • Preparation of adhoc business and performance analysis • Participation in local/Group financial projects • Assistance at preparation of statutory reporting
  • Play a key role in driving improvements to current processes
  • Inter-departmental cooperation (accounting, tax, treasury, credit risk)
  • Preparation of financial reports for the National Bank and Statistics office
  • Reconciling financial reporting and financial models back to the accounting records

Person specification:

Qualification

  • Educated to university level
  • Ideally qualified/part qualified accountant (CAA,CIMA, ACCA, ACA)

Skills

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to deal with people at all levels, both in country and internationally
  • Inquisitive mind with a desire to ‘get it right’
  • Attention to detail, analytical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to manage own time effectively to ensure that tight deadlines are achieved
  • Numerate with strong analytical and IT skills (particularly MS Office - Excel)
  • Highly organised, methodical and meticulous
  • Advanced written and spoken English – regular contact with UK staff required

Knowledge

  • Good understanding of accounting principles – preferably both local GAAP and IFRS Experience
  • Minimum 2-year experience in an audit role (preferably in one of big four companies) and/or reporting
  • Experience of working within a corporate (ideally international) environment
  • Experience of working within complex organisations - preferably financial services
