My client is a multinational company with a global, well-known brand name. Here in the Czech market they have an international IT centre providing IT services their business entities in different countries.

SENIOR COGNOS SOFTWARE ENGINEER (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
In this job, as a Senior Cognos Software Engineer, you will design, develop, and implement customer BI solutions. You will need to work with internal clients to understand, analyze, and refine solution requirements.
You can expect to analyze BI reporting application requirements, develop and validate the application design on the Cognos platform. Develop and unit test semantic layers, reports, and GUIs where required. You can also participate in hardware design, sizing and migration projects. Conduct BI reporting consulting and end user trainings on the Cognos platform. Overall, support data warehouse design, largely working with Teradata/Oracle regarding logical and physical modelling, and ETL development.
We require:
• University education from a technical or IT sphere is strongly preferred here
• In-depth knowledge of Business Intelligence Reporting tools in Cognos
• Relevant BI experience of 4-5 years at least in Cognos and/or Teradata
• Good background and experience in BI reporting development
• In depth knowledge of the Cognos application development and testing methodology
• Knowledge of BI best practices and access layer modelling
• Advanced SQL preferred as well as the experience with database design preferred
• Fluent written and spoken English language
• Great Team player
