Middleware Infrastructure Engineer / ref.:MIDI

This person provides analytical ability and creativity in developing and implementing solution deliverables for large projects and anticipating potential problems and is informed on future trends.
This position requires in-depth knowledge across multiple platforms, processes, architectures and banking or insurance processes
Middleware Infrastructure Engineer is focused on Novell Identity & Access Management and on Middleware management (JBOSS, MYSQL, Oracle) in combination with virtualization (VMWare), security and Linux or/and Windows.

You will be responsible for:

• Liaison with 3rd parties on components level, will determine policies for the future with respect to his field of expertise
• “Supports” the incident, problem and change processes and is willing to participate in an on-call schedule
• Interfaces with third parties as Novell, Oracle, Microsoft and internal lead architects
• Analyzes problems and incidents
• Regulates and manages problem solving with third parties
• Database maintenance coordination of changes
• Monitors, analyzes and improves processes
• Carries out planned activities
• Delivers high quality database information and documentation
• Proactively proposes service improvements
• Communicates, shares and distributes knowledge across the team
• Develops new products with vendors
• Tests software and infrastructure components in cooperation with other departments to cover complexity of infrastructure within all tests.
• Coordinates and plans upgrades and patches


Requirements:

• Education: Graduate level (preferably from IT)
• Demonstrated senior experience in database administration (Oracle)
• Demonstrated working experience in Linux virtualization administration
• Minimum of 5 years experience in IT environments with a focus on middleware
• Certified in various components
• Novell specific tooling knowledge
• Middleware tooling (Linux, Windows, VMWare)
• Build and release management knowledge (middleware stack)
• Structured testing / approvals
• Project skills
• Good English both written and spoken
• Strong communication skills

Preferred are candidates with EU citizenship because of work permit.
