Key Responsibilities
• Working as part of a small team operating New Business Intake system and associated processes and procedures in place for managing conflicts of interest and file opening.
• Assisting the Firm with queries relating to the NBI process including providing conflict management and anti-money laundering guidance.
• Reviewing new client and matter requests submitted via the firm’s NBI system, raising queries as necessary and performing conflict checks.
• Liaising with partners, staff and other members of the Risk Team to facilitate the prompt resolution of conflict issues arising.
• Ensuring proper anti-money laundering checks have been carried out for new and existing clients, and that relevant data is properly entered onto the firm’s systems.
Requirements:
• Communicate and work almost exclusively in English
• Demonstrate proven ability to work in a team and to build and maintain effective working relationships internally and externally.
• Effectively manage a varying personal workload in respect of conflict search requests, new client due diligence and project work
• Ensuring that work is performed promptly and efficiently, in collaboration with the team.
• Quickly learn and become familiar with internal processes and procedures covering Conflict of Interest, Confidentiality, Client Due Diligence and AML as well a sanctions and other Reputational Risk issues.
• Effectively manage and prioritise a high number of competing demands.
• Manage time efficiently, delivering work to a consistently high standard and to deadlines.
• Communicate clearly and effectively to achieve results; excellent written and oral communication skills are essential.
• Demonstrate initiative and an ability to work with minimal supervision at busy times.
• Excellent written English skills, must be able to draft emails which provide clear and unambiguous instructions or advice.
• Ability to analyse issues and draw conclusions clearly and succinctly.
• Ability to communicate the Risk Team view persuasively by telephone, in writing and in person.
• The successful candidate will be a graduate, ideally with some legal knowledge or experience.
• A knowledge of some aspects of risk management is desirable
