My client is a growing international firm developing travel expense systems and applications. They develop applications in this field both of international corporate clients as well as individual clients like you and me.
They are a global company with a development and service centre here in Prague. This development centre is international, so you can expect a collective of international technical specialists with a clear vision as to where their products will take the company in the future. We are currently searching for the following candidates:
APPLICATION SUPPORT ENGINEER – LINUX (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
In this job you will be providing system and application maintenance on the Linux platform within the enterprise environment. You will also be involved in configuration maintenance and release management. You will have ongoing activity in monitoring and measuring systems for performance as well as load and capacity planning.
The application support team are a group of experienced IT professionals; you can expect to learn a great deal in this area. You will undertake day-to-day service requests for all company applications, providing incident management and resolution. You need to apply skills in troubleshooting issues and root cause analysis, strategy and solving a large range of application problems. You will also be involved in training, solution design and knowledge transfer.
We require:
• University Education from a technical field is preferred for this position
• Linux background in application support (4 years experience is ideal)
• Experience with enterprise environment preferably RedHat or similar
• Basic understanding of ITIL
• Experience working with external vendors to resolve issues
• Basic Windows 2008 experience
• Scripting experience with BASH (PowerShell / Python an advantage)
• Experience with T-SQL queries
• You need to have experience with the virtualization and tools for VMWare ESX
• Fluent English language required for this position
