Our client is an international online marketing agency with offices in Europe and the United States. They are a fully financed international start-up, looking to expand their development team in Prague and Barcelona. They are in the process of launching a huge internet advertising network which will be running on distributed web technologies and in the cloud!
We are looking for exciting IT professionals interested in an international career within a busy and rewarding start-up environment! We seek senior software engineers for the following role:
SENIOR SOFTWARE ENGINEER – DISTRIBUTED SYSTEMS (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
In this position you can expect to be working within a growing group of technology professionals, building server side applications to drive the online advertising network. Not only will you working with the latest in cloud and development technologies, but you will be supporting senior development leadership with technical input regarding coding, architecture and system functionality.
You will be responsible for building, testing, deploying and operating a game-changing ads management and serving system, exploring new architecture models and continuously contributing new ideas. Expect to be exposed to technologies such as distributed and cloud systems (AWS, Azure) and development with Node.js, Python, Java and potentially NoSQL and SQL.
Your position in this early stage of the company will be key to drive the technology forward and the role is ideal for candidates seeking an international technology career. We are seeking candidates who would be interested to spend one year developing in our client’s Barcelona office, to hone their technical skills before returning to the Czech Republic according to your own personal requirement.

We require:
• Higher education degree in Information Technology or equivalent will be a strong advantage for this role
• At least 5 years of experience translating ideas into maintainable code and at least 2 years of professional, hands-on Node.js, Python, Java or other technology
• NoSQL experience will be a strong advantage
• Distributed and cloud systems (AWS, Azure) experience is a plus
• Ideal candidates would have experience with larger distributed systems with significant load-millions of requests. Analytics, BigData, EMR is a plus.
• Strong proficiency with open source technologies
• Proficient with Github, JIRA or other software development project tools
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• The ability to solve problems creatively and strong communication skills
• Fluent written and spoken English language
