My client is major retail chain in the Czech Republic and one of the biggest employers across the country. They have an international brand name and are well know across the Czech Republic and other countries across Europe. Within their IT department they have a small team devoted to Oracle administration. We are looking for a communicative technical specialist to join this team:
ORACLE DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
You will part of a department providing administration activities to Oracle databases. You will be working on multiple databases on Oracle 8, 9, 10 and 11! You will be managing incidents and supporting users across the retail group. Monitor databases, tune and optimise performance. Conduct back-up activity, occasional system testing.
You will provide critical support and disaster recovery when required to ensure smooth running of the business to minimise problems due to database failure. Play an important role in the implementation of new projects. Data security is also critical for our client, so you will need to secure it against theft and address areas of weakness. Communicate with users overall to solve problems and improve IT operations.
We require:
• University Education from a technical / IT background is preferred here
• You should have clear, proven experience in managing multiple Oracle DB servers
• SQL language and PL / SQL is required for this position
• C and PHP can be an advantage for this role
• UNIX experience, AIX and Shell scripting could also be an advantage for this position
• Knowledge of English at a communicative level
• A team player, analytical type, solid communication skills!
