The main missions of the role are:
• Contribute to specify standard and special production equipments (managed by process specialists) : Welding cell, Canning, engraving, leak tester etc… to manage cost, installation and maintenability of the machines;
• specify a standard range of automation materials that our equipment supplier will use;
• define rules to handle automation in our equipments: promote best practice, capitalize experience;
• for each program, ensure that traceability needs are defined with Process specialist, PML (Program Manufacturing Leader) and PQL (Program Quality leader): formalize the needs for each program. Lead the definition of the machine data exchange parameters and manage the interface with GIS (Group Information System);
• specify, get quotations, launch, follow and make reception of subcontracted work package for automation;
• trouble shooting at plant for issues within Europe and eventually worldwide;
• train plant automation specialists to achieve know how transfer;
• drive cost saving initiatives in the plants;
• lead the European Division network of automation specialists;
• manage Standards for Automation Equipments: PLC, Data Exchange, barcode readers, etc... Conduct equipment tests and present decision matrix for materials, solution and strategy;
• up-date internal procedures to manage automation and traceability
• propose new ideas for automation and control processes, writing and reading of parts identifiers.
The ideal candidate should have:
• Industrial automation professional with Technologist or engineering degree;
• 3 to 10 years experience in the development of automation systems for manufacturing equipments ; ideally form Automotive industry or comparable;
• international experience;
• PLC programming for Siemens and Telemecanique PLC ; Robot programming skills would be an advantage Fanuc, Motoman;
• industrial manufacturing process;
• strong communication skills, ability to structure and capitalize know-how;
• networking capabilities, ability to work in a matrix organization;
• international mindset;
• interest to understand the products and how they are assembled;
• bi-lingual English.
