My client is a growing international firm developing travel & expense systems and applications. They develop applications in this field both of international corporate clients, as well as individual clients like you and me.
They are a global company with a development and service centre here in Prague. We are currently searching for the following candidates:
SOFTWARE CONFIGURATION ENGINEER - LINUX (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
In this job we are looking for a technology professional that will monitor a variety of Linux server-based systems regarding our client’s cloud-based client services. You will likely have some exposure to the Windows platform also. You will develop, implement, and configure tools, processes and systems for existing and new products. We are looking for someone who will work to improve existing and new tools and monitoring systems. You will monitor Big Data capabilities in Linux servers; this will be key. You will be monitoring load and capacity of servers, and measuring staging and production systems performance, reliability and load.
Can you troubleshoot performance issues? Perform incident, configuration and problem management. Participate in capacity planning, project planning. You will develop scripts and lightweight applications for automation and monitoring to give you a good analysis issue solving and proactive prevention.
You will be working with a variety of internal company teams as well as third party vendors. You will be working in a driven, technology focussed environment with minimum supervision as part of an established and driven team.
We require:
• University Education from a Computer Sciences / IT field is preferred
• 2 years application support or technical engineering experience
• We are looking for solid experience with Linux (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Scripting skills in python is preferred, but BASH and PowerShell are applicable here
• Skills with Groovy, XML and SQL can also be applied in this role
• You should have experience with issue tracking tools (e.g. Confluence, Jira)
• An understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and Scrum will also help
• Fluent English language for daily communication
