My client is a multinational company with a global, well-known brand name. Here in the Czech market they have an international IT centre providing IT services their business entities in different countries.
The company is a great firm to work for due to its international environment and possibilities for personal and professional growth. For this company we are currently looking for a range of IT specialists. Could you be the right person for the following role?
SENIOR SUPPORT SPECIALIST - SYBASE (REF: WEDI)
Responsibilities:
• Schedules, supervises, monitors and gives instruction to less experienced colleagues in all aspects of Sybase database administration.
• Ensures that all tasks and procedures are carried out effectively and efficiently to agreed levels of service.
• Works as member of virtual teams across Operations department to review, evaluate and implement necessary changes to infrastructure environment.
• Takes responsibility either for substantial technical decision-making or for teams of staff. If the latter, demonstrates the basic qualities associated with team leadership.
• Acts as subject matter expert with regards to the available tools, methods, procedures and/or equipment associated with Sybase. Possesses adequate technical depth to make correct choices from alternatives in all these areas.
• Is able to apply selected technical tools etc in such a way as to meet set targets of cost, time, quality and performance.
• Is able to communicate effectively both formally and informally with all those with whom working interfaces arise whether they be colleagues, clients or customers.
• Shows initiative and makes time available to ensure general technical competencies and specializations are kept up-to-date in line with industry developments.
We require:
• Very good Sybase administration skills. Must be able to administer the systems to ensure problems are avoided and cooperate with another team members and members of other teams with Production Services department in IT Services.
• Sybase administration experience within a corporate computing environment
• Good knowledge of Unix/Linux operation system
• Strong customer focus and communication skills
• Fluent English Language
• Excellent team working ability
