When at the Mlýnec restaurant’s terrace you are at some timeless zone. Enjoying the Prague Castle view, Charles Bridge and vivid waters of the Vltava river. The terrace was completely refurbished this spring and is now even more beautiful, cosy and intimate – perfect for romantic dinners, discrete business lunches or afternoon glass of wine. And what is the most fit summer drink? Rosé! Fresh, juicy, with fruit and flower hints. We do not exaggerate when we say that it was Jiří Hort who taught Czechs to appreciate and drink rosé wines. He was the first wine grower to start producing exquisite rosés.
Chef Marek Šáda prepared a tasty summer menu that perfectly complements the selected wines:
• Delicate scallops St. Jacques, marinated in sea salt, served with strawberries, cucumber and seaweed dressing, paired with Merlot – Rosé 2013, late harvest from Drnholec, from the Hort winery
• Spicy, carrot-rhubarb soup with ginger and foie gras shavings, served cold and paired with fresh, fruity Zweigeltrebe – Rosé 2013 from Vrbovce, from the Hort winery
• Wild Scottish salmon, baked in butter, served with horseradish buttermilk, Keta caviar, Pak Choi, fennel and radish, matches the shades of the fresh Merlot – Rosé 2013 from Znojmo, from the Hort winery
• Grilled beef Flap steak with carrots, baked celery, kale and carrot jus, as Pinot Noir – Rosé 2013, late harvest from Velké Bílovice. from the Hort winery.
• Pistachio macaron with apricots and apricot ice cream is harmonically complemented by a sparkling wine from Velké Bílovice, the Sedlák winery – Zweigeltrebe rosé frizzante 2013. This gently sparkling wine with fresh and fruity undertones may win you over and become your drink for the rest of the evening.
