Sr. System Support Specialist - MYSQL

My client is a multinational company with a global, well-known brand name. Here in the Czech market they have an international IT centre providing IT services their business entities in different countries.

Responsibilities:
In this job your main focus will be the maintenance and administration of computer software and operations tools on Linux in support of IT service. You will provide key support to business critical MySQL databases.
To improve system availability, you will need to proactively work to avoid outages and performance issues, with particular focus on maintenance services for all infrastructure used by the Operations Centre.
You will engage with project management to confirm that infrastructure components meet the acceptance criteria and are to the required standard.
• Ensure implementation of new services and changes to existing services in the Production/Development environments are in line with customer project plans and requests
• Deliver pre-sales advice and consultation on technical architecture and production standards
• Provide 2nd level of support of systems
• Provide Operations Acceptance activities in order to ensure accurate and timely release to production of new and/or enhanced services.
• Maintain forward vision of server and/or software architecture and provision to ensure timely replacement of servers with due regard to financial and technology implications
• Ensure that the applications and their support is undertaken based on the IT Operational standards
We require:
• 3-4+ years MySQL experience
• Good knowledge of Linux Operating System (Red Hat), shell scripting (bash), database performance strategies and tuning of MySQL processes and queries
• Experience in administration of InnoDB is a plus
• Experience with MySQL Replication, with both Master-Slave and Master-Master replication
• Good team player and good communication skills
