We are looking for a consultant or developer who has prior experience in Hadoop. Could you be the right candidate for the following role?
Responsibilities:
We are looking for a candidate with experience in designing and building applications using procedural languages, most recently in the Hadoop space. It’s possible you can provide consultancy on the client side, but your core activities will be in the development itself.
Your responsibilities include the design, development, and maintenance of complex software solutions in the Hadoop space. You will need to demonstrate a strong understanding of algorithms, software engineering and design patterns. You will need to build large-scale high-performance Hadoop systems. Depending on your experience, you can participate in pre- and post- sales consulting.
Devise and recommend solutions based on client requirements and make recommendations that optimize performance. Improve your design authority via Hadoop project experience.
We require:
• University education from a technical background is a strong advantage for this role
• 3+ years of Java product development experience, team leadership experience would be an advantage here
• Exposure in designing and deploying 3 tier architectures or large-scale Hadoop solutions
• Ability to understand and translate customer requirements into technical requirements
• Strong experience implementing software and/or solutions in the enterprise Linux or Unix environment
• Python, Perl, or other scripting language will be a strong advantage for this role
• Previous work writing to network-based APIs, preferably REST/JSON or XML/SOAP
