For our client, an international ICT company, we are looking for top level executive for the position of Head of Telecoms. Location: Prague

Briefly:

• Consolidation of demand designs and coordinates all Group wide IT shared services to maximize leverage (cost) and to ensure the provisioning of best fit services (quality).
• The Head of Telecoms command global Telecoms sub-department within the Organization and is involved in shaping group's strategy in the area of telecommunication services.

Detailed purpose of position:

• Drive roadmap development & technology planning. Strategy definition & alignment, supporting implementation of innovations with a focus on design and integration of IT security and service continuity requirements.
• Design telecommunication services that meet the performance and cost targets of Business Units.
• Harmonize telecommunication infrastructure across Business Units with the ultimate aim to maximize leverage and ensure best fit services (service/cost). •Build a global team able to deliver the cost- and quality objectives in the field of telecommunication services.
• Fill skill capability gap in Telecoms.
• Manage a global team across the time zones (15 direct subordinates) • Coordinate global Telecoms risk management
• Governance bodies alignment (e.g. (group wide) Telecoms Council, Telecoms Working Group, regional telecoms committees)
• Manage cross-supplier service integration layer (GTSM)
• Support audit and benchmarking
• Support outsourcing strategy in the regions with standard requirements (Common technology standards, service management processes, security, and operational support model, ordering and accounting tools, benchmarking clauses)

Accountabilities:

• End-to-end responsibility for telecommunication services (except sourcing, including service strategy and service design) •Bundle telecommunication demand from different BUs
• Gain insight into roadmaps and new offerings of external and internal vendors
• Manage Telecoms Council (e.g. invitations, agenda, lead working group for detailed alignment and preparation of Council's decisions)
• Communicate with ITB to seek endorsement for actions
• Ensure quality of service offerings (End-to-End responsibility) in the area of telecommunication
• Improve cost efficiency of service offerings in the area of telecommunication
• Design IT Security and Service Continuity Management (to be aligned with Service Continuity as team of Hosting and Security Concepts as team of End User Services)
• Promote and communicate ITSS service offerings in the area of telecommunication
• Develop strategy of ITSS (including roadmaps and portfolio management), especially for Telecoms
• Act as single point of contact for Business Unit IT for identifying and understanding its requirements and collecting future demands
• Facilitate joint decision-making across all Business Units to achieve the best result for the Group regarding telecommunication services. At the same time, consider business interests to ensure the highest performance and availability of business critical applications •Coordinate service transitions across BUs
• Develop and maintain a comprehensive service catalogue (incl. service descriptions and security concepts)
• Lead the team by: Creating a vision; Driving results by setting clear objectives and measuring them; Attracting, motivating and retaining a highly skilled workforce; Lead and enable enterprise-wide thinking in the team and serve as a role model by demonstrating a commitment to client’s values and high performance standards; Create an environment that values employees and encourages cooperation, open communication and teamwork; Manage the allocation of team resources and develop training and development plans.

Demands:

• Strong skills in developing and communicating concepts and strategy
• Strong collaboration and partnering skills: Ability to accomplish results through others, particularly by establishing relationships with service partners
• Ability to communicate and build consensus among different stakeholders
• Demonstrated ability to assess customer/client needs, creatively approach solutions, decides and influence appropriate courses of action
• Comprehensive knowledge (5+ years) of telecommunications services
• Proven record in designing new telecommunication services and understanding impact on cost and quality whilst maintaining service levels
• Knowledge of network architecture, network technologies and telecommunication technologies
• Broad understanding of the international Telecommunications industry, in terms of service providers etc.
• Knowledge of ITIL
• Understanding of IT Architecture/Infrastructure
• Understanding of process costs, ability to work with supplier to ensure effective operations and agreed upon service levels
• Strategic and operational IT management experience gained in a large fast moving multi-national corporation
• Proven program and project management skills to support the successful delivery of complex projects
• Experience in Information Technology function
• Experience in Telecoms function
• Proven track record of successfully leading global teams
• At least MSc. or equivalent in technical or business related discipline
• Very good spoken and written English skills (German would be an advantage)
• ITIL Foundation Certificate
