Accounting Consultant

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Consultant to join our Tax Management & Accounting Services team (TMAS) based in Prague.

We are looking for a positive, motivated, and responsible person who is able to work in teams and has good knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance agenda.

About the position

Main activities and responsibilities:

• Provision of accounting services, maintenance of Czech GAAP books and preparation of regular management reports and financial statements
• Work on variety of clients with varied scope of accounting tasks
• Regular business oriented communication with our clients, tax and other state authorities
• Year-end financial closing and preparation of financial statements
• Preparation of corporate income tax, VAT, flat estate tax, road tax compliance and statistical reports
• Reconciliation of CZ GAAP to IFRS and/or US GAAP
• Accounting set up for new clients
• Accounting/tax advisory
• Delivering projects on time and at a highly professional level
• Communication with PwC offices worldwide

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

• A university degree, Economics specialization preferable
• At least 2 years working experience in accounting
• Good knowledge of double-entry bookkeeping and Czech accounting rules (IFRS and/or US GAAP is an advantage)
• Previous client facing experience is preferable
• Very good command of English, fluent Czech
• MS Office skills (especially MS Excel), experience with Navision and Helios systems is an advantage
• Positive attitude to IT issues linked to client work
• An interest in figures and calculations
• An eye for detail

• Understand business and are driven by it
• Good communication and client interaction skills
• Independent thinker
• Positive approach to learning new things in tax/compliance field
