The EMEA Community Program Manager will provide a motivated individual an opportunity to foster engagement with leading technical community experts within the region. This front-line responsibility allows the Community Program Manager to engage with community leaders and influencers in their local geography and to work broadly across EMEA-based Microsoft teams (especially Poland, Czech Republic and Russia), our team based out of Microsoft’s Corporate Headquarters, and community groups.
Responsibilities
- Deliver community success within EMEA guided by the Program strategy
- Identify leading technical community experts to join the Programs and manage award program renewals for existing technical experts.
- Ensure the quality of our program members continues to rise, meeting new strategic business priorities, and set the highest bar for our customers and communities.
- Develop an inclusive process, gathering feedback, nominations, requirements and ideas from all relevant stakeholders.
- Ensure there are focused and actionable community engagement plans for EMEA which are aligned across our community-facing programs.
- Advocate on behalf of members of the program, and be an influential voice within the program team.
- Manage ongoing communication and engagement with members of the programs, and serve as the primary relationship manager.
- Plan, organize and support the execution of MVP-sponsored community events in major cities in EMEA.
- Partner with field marketing and business development teams to identify and cultivate high-value and connected experiences and engagement opportunities for community experts.
- Track, promote and report on success of community efforts.
Qualifications
An ideal candidate must possess the following skills:
- Strong communicator who inspires leadership and community engagement.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with experience in leading planning discussions with key stakeholders and uncovering opportunities.
- Fluent in Czech and English. Fluent in Russian is a plus.
- Strong networking and relationship management skills.
- Strategic thinking and analytical skills.
- Data driven approach.
- Ability to engage with a wide range of audiences (from customers up to senior management).
- Ability to think creatively and challenge the status quo.
- 5+ years related experience in community engagement or related role.
- Experience working across different cultures and business environments.
- Organized, detail-oriented, and driven self-starter who can develop and communicate clear plan.
- Ability to travel an estimated 10-25% of time.
The following skills and capabilities are highly desirable for the role:
- Deep understanding and passion for technology and technical audiences.
- General understanding of the Microsoft Developer and IT Ecosystem and compete environment.
- Experience with leading Microsoft and/or non-Microsoft communities (OSS, Android, iOS, AWS, etc).
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Computer Science.
