Novartis is currently recruiting for a Global Training and Change Lead to join and be responsible for the global strategy, planning and implementation of change and training related activities for a wide range of topics and projects, such as, the Consolidation of HR Services transition project (CHRS), global aspects of the New Employee Onboarding (NEO) Program and NEO for HR Services, ServiceNow and UP4Growth. The role holder will partner with the business, project sponsors and program managers to ensure the portfolio of strategic projects meets objectives and realizes benefits on time and on budget by supporting, creating and implementing change management & training strategies and plans that ensures commitment among key stakeholders for the change and maximize employee adoption and usage and minimize resistance. Focus will be on the people side of change, including changes to business processes, systems and technology. The incumbent will apply relevant tools, e.g. stakeholder & influencer analysis, change impact analysis, engagement activities, training needs assessment and will work together with stakeholders such as Communications (HR Services & NBS HR, e.g. to create key messages and case for change), Topic Owners & Experts (e.g. to define course definition and content), regional Change Leads (if applicable) and regional Training Coordinators (e.g. to create training plans and manage logistics) to ensure involvement, planning and regional execution.

 

Job Purpose

 

The purpose of the Global Training and Change Lead role is to develop, plan and gain approval for global change & training strategies and plans.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage development and/or adaption of training programs to meet audience requirements, ensuring training is appropriately targeted and linked to measureable business objectives.
  • Create and maintain global training catalogue in collaboration with Topic Owners & Experts.
  • Work with regional change leads and regional training coordinators to ensure global consistency and alignment, define priorities, and exchange best practices and lessons learned.
  • Manage internal and external resources, as may be assigned.
  • Ensure all issues and concerns raised by audiences are addressed where appropriate and managed into the change & training strategy and plan.
  • Report on results from change & training evaluations with target groups to check if they meet, exceed or are below business expectations and define an action plan as needed.
  • Promote training through the CoE HR Services, Human Resources organization, and wider organization
  • Help build a culture of learning & development across the HR Services organization.
  • Work with the business on the identification of business priorities and define change & training needs.
  • Responsible for ensuring that the training programs are fit for purpose, adapted as may be required and delivered to target audiences.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements, such as providing access to new hires from point of them accepting the job offer and throughout their onboarding experience.
  • Ensure effective internal communication, and alignment with NBS HR, CoE, country, regional and global communication strategy and planning on respective topics.
  • Work closely with stakeholders at global / regional / country level as defined; these may involve HRBPs, HR Boards, respective Committees, CoEs and NBS HR Leadership.
  • Build measures of success for training programs and include within operational re-views with the Service Delivery Review Board.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by Line Manager.
  • Keep up to date with change & training research and be aware of trends on the market.

    Strategy & Planning

     

    • Ensure effective governance of HR operational activities and change & training needs are aligned with HR and IT strategy and objectives.
    • Implementation of defined programs in alignment with legal requirements.
    • Partnership performance metrics (i.e. ability to meaningfully contribute to broader HR strategy formulation and translate that strategy into own agenda).

       

    Monitoring & Control

     

    • Ensure target solutions help to drive cost and efficiency objectives, monitor, and initiate additional activities if required.
    • Define and refine change & training methodology and toolkits for the combined HR Services team and drive actions to ensure achievement.
    • Ensure adherence to relevant laws, where relevant.
    • Ensure compliance with legal framework, SOX requirements, etc.
    • Ensure adoption and adherence to Novartis HR practices and guidelines, assuring that these are transparent to the respective organization.
    • Ensure adherence to Novartis policies & guidelines People and Organization:
    • HR Services internal and external communication and stakeholder management influencing the organization to achieve objectives and drive continuous improvement.
    • As an individual contributor, support change within the team.

    Requirements

     

    Minimum requirements The ideal candidate will have

     

    • Bachelor/s degree in HR / other related field or equivalent experience.
    • Qualification in change and/or training management or equivalent (e.g. CIPD) Fluent spoken and written English, other languages are an advantage.
    • Ideally 3 to 5 years’ change and/or training management experience working in a HR Shared. Services / Customer Service Delivery environment within a global environment.
    • Knowledge and experience of designing and delivering a variety of change and/or training programs.
    • Proven experience in partnering with externals.
    • Proven experience in people management and change management.
    • Experience with SAP HR or other ERP HR systems.
