The function was created for reasons arising from legal and regulatory requirements and to improve the level of safety at work, fire protection and environmental protection in the organizational units of PepsiCo in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

Another reason was to lead the process of implementation of the GEHSMS in collaboration with other managers of all departments.

Main accountabilities:

  • Leads EHS agenda for more than over 600 full-time PepsiCo employees.
  • Leads risk mitigation agenda for and infrastructure of 2 facilities and 2 sales teams based on corporate requirements
  • Cooperation with BU GM and Functional Leads
  • Management of the relationship with PepsiCo property insurer, FM Global, coordinate visits and services provided to the BU
  • The law required a range of tasks in the field of occupational health and safety within the meaning of the Act. no. 179/2006 Coll. and z. no. 309/2006 Coll. and in the fire prevention area for the purposes of the Act no. 133/1985 Coll, as amended, and in particular:
  • Providing of preventive controls occupational health and safety in the workplaces.
  • Collection of data for risk analysis.
  • Monitoring and compliance with occupational health and safety legislation.
  • Implementation of GEHSMS, ensuring compliance to PepsiCo standards
  • Training of people in OSH excluding executives.
  • Cooperation in the investigation of accidents and occupational diseases.
  • Collection of data for job classification.
  • Processing and documentation updates OSH and in addition to analysis and risk assessment.
  • Monitoring and validity of the medical staff.
  • Participation in negotiations with the control and inspection authorities.
  • Cooperation to labeling sites and other sites relevant safety signs, commands, prohibitions and guidelines in relation to fire protection, including the places where there are material means of fire protection and fire safety equipment
  • Reviewing and updating the institutional policy of HSE
  • Responsible for the development and implementation of organizational security programs
  • Evaluation of risk behavior in order to identify the potential risks and planning of preventive measures
  • Familiarizing employees with responsibilities in the area of ​​occupational safety and health, fire protection, environmental protection and other technical standards
  • Providing preventive monitoring jobs, periodic input and staff training, cooperation on identifying risk assessment and evaluation, including cooperation to eliminate or minimize
  • Coordination of the implementation of the safety management system at work, fire protection and environment in the enterprise,
  • Representation before the inspection authorities (OIP, KHS, State Labour Inspectorate, Fire Brigade, State Sanitary and Epidemiological Inspectorate, CEI, etc.), And cooperation on the elimination of identified defects after inspection deadlines,
  • Organization of campaigns and projects to promote occupational safety and improving safety culture and environmental protection in society
  • Implement Sector and Global initiatives, adopting them to local needs and legal requirements.
  • Participation and supervision over the performance of inspections (at intervals of at least 1 month) and implementing proposals to remove defects and deficiencies identified during these inspections
  • Informing senior staff about the dangers, accidents and potential accident situations,
  • Consultation on the repair, modernization and construction within the company
  • Management or the possible collaboration to develop guidelines EHS
  • Archiving of documents in the management system in the EHS
  • Investigation of accidents and environmental accidents
  • Cooperation in the organization and implementation of statutory and internal training in EHS
  • Participation in the commission of OSH management and related documentation
  • Representing the company before the audit supervisory bodies of state administration
  • Support, maintenance and ensure continuous improvement of ISO 14001 to the successful recertification
  • Preparation and implementation of internal audits as required
  • Support and preparation for external audits as required by the company (FM Global, BV, etc.)
  • Drawing up a report on the review of the company's management under ISO 14001 on an annual basis
  • Collaboration with various concerned departments in the fields of energy and energy audit
  • Planning of financial resources for ensuring legislative compliance EHS

Job requirements:

  • Completed studies in the field of fire protection, safety and the environment to the extent required by applicable legislation
  • Completed university degree (ideally in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or similar subject)
  • Professional experience of at least 3 years, or at least 1 year (if a person received a university education in bachelor or master's degree program in the field of occupational safety and health) in an international company
  • Knowledge of English language on communicative level
  • Excellent knowledge of process controlling and experience in audits
  • Knowledge in the context of process optimization
  • Excellent skills in IT
  • Independence, team approach to work and actively taking responsibility in areas affected EEC
