The Database Engineering Team is looking for a Database Administrator to work with an existing team of DBA's and Developers supporting the database infrastructure that the Bronto SaaS platform runs on, as well as developing tools to maintain this environment. Our environment consists of Oracle, MySQL, and Hadoop/HBase databases, both on-premise and in the cloud. The ideal candidate will be one who is comfortable administering at least one of these databases and is eager to learn the others. On-the-job training and mentoring will be provided to bring you up to speed on any technologies/skills you will need to do your job.
Responsibilities:
• Own day-to-day operations of large database environments
• Perform routine DBA activities such as user management, replication, backups, upgrades, and instance provisioning
• Define and document internal procedures and best practices
• Proactively monitor database environments for performance, availability and health
• Work with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and solve problems
• Participate in an on-call rotation
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
• 1-2 years' experience supporting at least one of the following databases: Oracle, MySQL, Hadoop/HBase
• Strong Linux background
• Strong SQL proficiency
"Nice to Have" Experience and Knowledge:
• Experience with Nagios, Oracle Enterprise Manager, or other monitoring solutions
• Experience developing in a high-level language (php, ruby, java, python)
• Experience working with source code management tools (like Git)
• Experience with automated configuration management (Puppet, Chef, or Ansible)
• PL/SQL
